Purchased Healing

The prophet Isaiah foretold that the coming savior would take our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. I am horrified at the suffering Christ endured before and during His crucifixion, but it was necessary. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. Some people only think about the forgiveness of sins the punishment ensured, but Jesus’ suffering paid for our freedom from sickness and disease as well. This is why partaking of His broken body is an important aspect of Communion. He was broken so we would be whole. Hosanna!
